The X Factor

The X Factor

There once was a Nuclear Power Plant that was losing $250,000 a day due to faulty machinery! and the Plant Engineers could not determine where the challenge lie,

They hired and expert,

The expert came in and walked around the plant for 2 days, at the end of the second day, the said expert removed a black sharpie from the inside pocket of his blazer and put a X on one of the gauges and said “replace the machine associated with that gauge and your plant will stop losing $250,000 a day”

The “expert” left and 2 days later the plant received a bill for $10,000, the plant CFO was little concerned and asked the “expert” to please itemize the bill because he said it seemed like a bit much to walk around the plant for 2 days and put a X on a gauge,

The next day the CFO received and itemized bill from the expert, it read as follows,

  1. Put an X on a gauge with a black sharpie……………$1.00
  2. Knowing where to put the X……………………$9,999.00

Total………………$10,000.00

How the Story Relates,

This story relates to someone who knows where to put the X as it relates to the handyman business,

My X is someone who is easy and pleasant to communicate with,

Someone who knows, Clients don’t care how much you know until they know much you care,

Someone who has the skill set to complete the task and improvise if necessary,

As demonstrated by my many clients, not even thinking about contacting anyone else after they’ve experienced the professionalism of Go Joe Handyman!

It’s mostly better to invest a little more than you planned than to spend less than you should,

When you invest a little more than you planned and the project is a success, it’s pennies spread out over time,

But

When one spends less than one should, and the project fails, often….You lose everything!
