Re-Securing an Antenna

Recently, a client of mine, had an antenna that he used for his Mom, in the back house, they got about 87 channels!

Unfortunately, in the recent Santa Anna’s, a metal support pole that telescoped inside another pole, secured by 1 screw through both poles, snapped, causing the smaller pole to slide down inside the larger pole,

As a result,

All the support cables no longer provided tension and the pole actually bent from the high winds,

How was it fixed you ask?

The 3 turnbuckles were turned to their loosest point,

The inner pole was pulled up out of the outer pole and held with vice grips at a point where the cables were taut,

The Antenna was turned to the ideal placement for maximum reception,

Three holes were drilled through the inner and outer poles (1 in front & 1 on each side) with a cobalt drill bit,

Drilled like butter,

3 screws used for metal were anchored throgh the three poles,

Finally, the turnbuckles were tightened and the pole straightened out, at the same time,

They were back in business, 87 channels and nothin on, lol
